Through the Star Scheme at North Bristol Rugby Club, Luke’s Trust along with other organisations, were able to help 23 children gain access to sport that would have otherwise struggled. The money was used to support the children and their families with Travel, Kit, Boots, after match meals, a trip to Ashton Gate, subs and equipment as well as helping one child to experience Tour that otherwise wouldn’t have been able to. The smiles on each of the kids faces is immeasurable.

Feedback from one of the coaches is that even though some of the children won’t be the best of the players they get so much more out of it and it means so much more to them to have that stability in their life. Feedback from the parents face to face is although they would like to remain anonymous about the scheme they are so grateful for it. Otherwise there is no way their children would be able to access the sport with costs involved and the financial situation they are currently in.

It gives them escape from day to day life and also provides parents with some time to relax.“Bringing my child to the club was one of the best things I’ve done, hes gone from a shy boy who wouldn’t leave my side, to interacting on his own and not needing me there. Its helped not only him but given me some time for myself as well”

“I never would have been able to afford to bring my child to the club before due to my personal circumstances so i am so grateful to the STAR scheme”

“I cant believe how much of a change ive seen in my daughter since attending, its really brought her out of her shell”Luke’s Trust will continue to support the Star Scheme on an annual basis.
